Youth Art Month Flag Competition Results
Students k-12 from all over the state of Kentucky competed to create a flag design based on this years national theme "Take A Journey Through Art" sponsored by the National Art Education Association and the Council for Art Education (which represents arts vendors from all around the world and arts supporters). I am pleased to inform you that Maddie Graber, a 5th grade warren county student at Briarwood Elementary in Bowling Green, Ky. has been chosen as the overall winner in this years competition. Her artwork will be made into a flag and represent the state at the 2020 national convention this year along with the other 49 states. It will than travel throughout Kentucky at various events and be used to represent Youth Art across the state. Maddie will be honored at the national convention in Minneapolis, MN in March. This creative, expressive, up and coming bright art leader has also earned $1000.00 worth of art supplies for the Briarwood Elementary Art Classes and $500.00 worth of art supplies for herself.
